GSR report

April 6,2025

  1. I would first like to thank all who participated in the special business meeting on the Conference Agenda Items I was asked to get your input on. I went to a special district meeting last Tuesday where I presented our input to our DCM for his report at next Saturday’s Area Assembly
  2. One thing that was mentioned at the business meeting was the possibility of developing a pamphlet for the neurodivergent alcoholic. This would require submitting a Proposed Agenda item to the Trustees’ Conference Committee for next year’s Conference. I am willing to do this. But I want to wait until our delegate gets back from the Conference later this month so I can find out if he has any background information on the issue.
  3. a) I hope to have something for you by the June BM. I will then take it to the district and the Area Assembly. Proposed Agenda Items tend to have a better chance of getting on the Conference Agenda if it goes that route. The deadline for submission is September 30
  4. Only 5 of the 93 areas have online districts. Delaware is one of them. I think we found out before we got a Delaware address that Western Washington is another. AT the budget assembly in February, they discussed the fiscal feasibility of continuing to have hybrid Assemblies. The general belief is that they will continue, but details need to be worked out.
  5. On a side note, the Service Manual lists a GSR’s term as 2 years. Most GSR’s begin their terms in January  the year corresponding to their district number. We are in District 14. So that would be an even year, meaning the new GSR would take office in January of next year. We can do that or I ca2n serve until August when I will have had it for 2 full years. We don’t have to make a decision on this now. Just something to think about.
  6. a) Whatever we decide, I think it would be a good idea to elect  the new GSR a few months  early and have him/her attend the District meetings  and Assemblies with me, shadowing me.
  7. b) In the meantime, I would like people to think about their availability. I am not asking anyone to step up now, just that you think about it.

Thank you for letting me be of service.
