*Topics 5/23/25* 📬
1) *Daily Reflection*Â
  *Spiritual Health*Â
When the spiritual malady is overcome, we straighten out mentally and physically.
-ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, p 64
2) *Walk In Dry Places*Â
The good news of the Twelve step program is that we have a Higher Power whose presence serves as a source of guidance and understanding as we go through each day. Letting this power work through us is only a matter of will….. God draws as near to us as we wish to draw near to God.We could paralyze our spiritual activity by trying to analyze it, thus bringing about an undesirable “paralysis of analysis.” All that’s necessary is that we know God in our own lives and stay faithful to our program.
I’ll work today with the comfortable knowledge that God is really doing work through me.
3) *Living Sober*Â
Once we recognize self pity for what it really is we can start to do something about it, other than drink.
An excellent weapon is humor. Some of the biggest belly laughs at AA meetings erupt when a member describes their own recent excessive indulgence in self-pity. There we are – grown men and women tangled up in the emotional diaper of an infant. It may be a shock but the shared laughter takes a lot of the pain out of it, and the final effect is salutary.
4) *One Day At A Time*Â
“In the middle of difficulty, lies opportunity.”
–Albert Einstein
Pain, struggle, and difficulty can be catalysts for changes in me. If I am having so much difficulty living the way I do, then surely my current means of coping and survival are not working. The insanity of it all was that in spite of all the proof I saw that those methods did not work, I continued to live the same way — and suffer the same difficulties and struggles — for many years. Then opportunity for change knocked on my door.
