GRANT ME…
2. “If you go around thinking you’re being cheated, life becomes very unpleasant” —Felix Salten
Why did we get into so much trouble and pain as a result of a disease that hit us and skipped over other people?
Another way to look at it is: At least I have a disease i can recover from. Better this than since other disease that would’ve killed me outright or left me limited mentally or physically.
DAYS OF HEALING DAYS OF JOY
3.Comparisons are odious —John Fortescue
Today, we are just who we are, no more, no less. We never won at the comparison game. We always put ourselves down for not being enough. We assumed by comparing their outsides with our insides, that they were doing better. Isn’t it a relief to let that go? Doesn’t it feel good to accept ourselves as we are —not as we’re afraid we are and not as we wish we were? Isn’t it great to watch the world twirl —and not have to go along for the ride
A VISION FOR YOU
4.I know I must get along without liquor, but how can I?
There is a substitute and it is vastly more than that. It is a fellowship in Alcoholics Anonymous.
There you will find release from care, boredom and worry. Your imagination will be fired. Life will mean something at last. The most satisfactory years of your existence lie ahead. Thus we find the fellowship, and so will you
