SPIRITUAL AWAKENINGS 

2)   Carl Jung describes the spiritual awakening —”an illumination of enormous impact and dimension,” Bill W. writes —though for many the quest is long and the awakening gradual. 

A spiritual awakening without noticing it is another slow progression from self–loathing to “cleansing tears” of gratitude.

3) Living upon a basis of unsatisfied demand, we were in a state of continual disturbance and frustration.

I’ve become painfully aware of ME,  my demands, self-will, and my lack of power. Growing up in AA isn’t always pretty. Awareness is the beginning of the solution. Thank God I was trained well .. that “in times of pain, we help others.”

4) An alcoholic in his cups is an unlovely creature. 

One poor chap committed suicide in my home. He could not, or would not, see our way of life.

Faith has to work twenty-four hours a day in and through us, or we perish.
