    2. Motion
    1. Motion to approve ORC Report
      • Seconded and Passed (17 Yes Votes/No Dissent)

        C. BM Discussion

    1. Bently-Wondered if we can add an audiobook version into the ORC blurb for accessibility and help for those who need it.
    2. Dennis-Agrees that adding the link to an audiobook would be a good idea.
    3. Jason-I need to go over the ORC blurb and do an overhaul because it is rather long.
    4. Mike D-Referred to the Everything AA app. You can listen to the audiobooks of the literature on the app. The link to this could be pasted into the blurb.
    5. Jason-Everything AA app is a separate business which goes against our Traditions. I have nothing against the app and want to continue to use it. I just worry about promoting an outside business.
    6. Mike D-There’s just a link on the app that takes you to a different location with the literature. I can research this further and let you know.
    7. Dennis-Never looked at the app. It’s not an official AA resource.
    8. Jason-We will get that into the blurb. I will ensure that this is dealt with. ORC is doing really well with our budget and accomplishing the goals of the ORC team.

III. Tech Team Report-Gabi and Elle

    1. Gabi: Website has crashed a couple of times. Made a way for verifications to be done when the website is down. Made this more GUTS streamlined. Created an email and made a Google form, and they receive an automated response. Want to have a GUTS email and not one I created. A lot of service members need WhatsApp on all their devices. You just need to go to the website and you don’t have to download the app.
    2. BM Discussion
    1. Jason-I had to go into WhatsApp to stop them from showing every meme or picture. The notifications are the same thing. I have to turn off the notifications and manually turn off the auto-download feature. It can be a lot to deal with for most of us.
    2. Gabi-I can post directions on how to do all of that. People need to turn off those notifications for any device they downloaded with WhatsApp.
    3. Bently-Is there access for cohost info that they need?
    4. Gabi-The only thing that isn’t accessible in the GoogleDoc is screensharing info. All of the cohost stuff is still good. I am going to add individual PDF files to make sure people have access to what they need.
    5. Shawna-If the website continues to keep crashing. I am assuming that’s a capacity issue. We already have a booster on our website. Is this worth getting a bigger boost? I am curious if we need other solutions?
    6. Elle-There was an automated update. It was the automator clashing with the schedule for verifications. The settings on the Website are wonky. It doesn’t know what to do so it crashes. We had to make adjustments on the website. We may need to find an alternate solution. Part of what creates the capacity issue is people asking for verifications which can overload the server. We still have a lot of capacity. There’s just a clash issue. We will, on occasion, have things update automatically. That’s what happened in this case.

         C. Motion

    1. Motion to approve Tech Team Report
      • Seconded and Passed (15 Yes Votes/No Dissent)

    IV. GSR Report-Dennis

    1. Dennis: The input the group put in at the special Business Meeting was given during the Pre-Conference. Other topics were presented at the assembly which included allowing the Grapevine to accept contributions from groups, developing a step study workbook, and using a safety video created by an area in North California. These topics do not require discussion yet. The PAI did not make it to the conference. GSO said they need more info. Dennis plans to take measures to see what can be done in the meantime.
    2. Motion to approve GSR Report
      • Seconded and Passed (15 Yes Votes/No Dissent)

    VI. Group Announcement Thread

    1. BM Response
      1. Glenn-We don’t want to restrict too much because we still want some spontaneity in the threads. Is this really needed? This has worked for years. We may want to hold off on making a GC vote.
      2. Gabi-To give context, the schedulers need some clarity on what constitutes an announcement. Things that are related to service and group business would be an announcement more than likely. Schedulers have been shy on monitoring that thread. Having this discussion is important so that we have clarity on what we should do. We talked about closing it and having only the people who have an announcement to share. I am not sure if I want to block people from posting. The person might have a GUTS related announcement. We just want some structure and know what should go in that thread. Maybe leave it the way it is. Maybe we can post the descriptions of the threads. Posting them more periodically.
      3. Kristen-I know some of the threads become abused. The announcement thread never had this issue so much. For the most part, someone won’t become grumpy when their comment is deleted. I know this happens sometimes. People become upset when it comes to GUTS vs other meetings. The announcement thread has been stuff that’s been happening and pertinent info. If someone is speaking at another meeting, that has been posted. The threads are kind of a thorn in everyone’s side. Leave it as it is and give redirection when appropriate.
      4. Shawna-Things are posted in 3 separate chats at once. I see that new recent threads were added. I have to go in and check. Maybe we should pick a home for these messages. I have to clear a lot of notifications.
      5. Bently-The reason we have so many threads is due to the past. We receive complaints about the threads often. There are members who may not be in the thread in which something is posted. That’s why there is crossposting.
      6. Glenn-I don’t want to diminish accountability. There needs to be restraint of pen and tongue. People need to police themselves. Do we need to create another rule or another layer? We have a lot of GC. Motion to leave the Group Announcement Thread the way it is. Post the info about threads periodically. Add it to training.
      7. Gabi-The picture I post has the description of all the threads. They are all in the description of the threads at all times. People can read the description whenever they want. The GoogleDoc backup for the website is in the Live Thread. Before new cohosts are released into the wild, they receive a message about the info about the threads. They have a copy with that blurb. It’s also talked about in training. It’s in the checklist.

        B. Motion

      1. Glenn-Motion for a trial for a 60 day period in which we leave the Announcement Thread the way it is. Post the thread description info periodically. If this doesn’t work, we will take different measures.
        • Seconded and Passed (12 Yes Votes/1 No Vote)

      VII. Early GSR Election

      1. Minimal discussion
      2. Motion to hold elections for this position next month
        1. Seconded and Passed (17 Yes Votes/No Dissent)

🛑 Vote to close meeting passed.
