1.FEAR AND FAITH

The achievement of freedom from fear is a lifetime undertaking, one that can never be wholly completed. Fear has caused suffering when I could have had more faith. There are times when fear suddenly tears me apart, just when I’m experiencing feelings of joy, happiness and a lightness of heart. Faith — and a feeling of self-worth toward a Higher Power — helps me endure tragedy and ecstasy. When I choose to give all of my fears over to my Higher Power, I will be free.

2.ACCEPTANCE

And acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing, or situation – some face of my life – unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing, happens in God’s world by mistake. Until I could accept my alcoholism, I could not stay sober; unless I accept life completely on life’s terms, I cannot be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what needs to be changed in me and my attitudes.

3.HAVING FUN IN RECOVERY

It is important to have fun in recovery: Laughter releases endorphins (feel-good hormones) in your brain!  Engaging in enjoyable activities can provide a sense of accomplishment, help reduce stress, and provide a sense of purpose and meaning in life. It also builds vital social connections, which are indispensable in recovery. Simple pleasures like spending time laughing with friends and family, finding a hobby, or getting involved in sports and outdoor activities can be enjoyable and fulfilling.

4.IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER

Prayer is an important part of addiction recovery as they offer spiritual grounding, emotional support, and a sense of connection to something larger than oneself. Prayer allows individuals to surrender their struggles to a higher power, finding strength and peace in that connection.  What prayer is in your spiritual toolkit?
