DAILY REFLECTIONS

1) “We ask especially for freedom from self-will and are careful to make no requests for ourselves only. We may ask for ourselves, however, if others will be helped. We are careful never to pray for our own selfish ends.”

—ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, p. 87

THE POWER IN THE PAUSE

2) Being somewhat weakened and faced with physical and mental readjustment to a life which knows no alcohol, he may overdo. –BB pg. 146

We alcoholics are extremists.  We have obsessive personalities. In recovery I’m forced to to live with some sort of balance and moderation and make healthy choices.

I still overdo and I still suffer the consequences of decisions based on Self. Thankfully, I can see my poor doing and Iam grateful I’m still sober. Thank God I’m willing.

SPIRITUAL AWAKENINGS PG. 49

3) I began to believe in a HP who is the spirit of the universe. This spirit is always with me unless, as the Big Book suggests, I allow my resentment to separate me from the sunlight of the spirit. My HP has been born for me through sharing and hope. Every day, hopeless, helpless alcoholics walk into AA meetings, grab onto hope, and begin a renewal of their spirit.

4) “WALK SOFTLY AND CARRY A BIG BOOK”

You must learn to pick up a program, not just set down a drink!
