DAILY REFLECTIONS

1) Be quick to see where religious people are right.  Make use of what they offer.

-ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, p. 87

GRANT ME…

2) I have not failed. I’ve just found ten thousand ways that won’t work. —Thomas Edison

No matter what we tried, we just couldn’t control our alcohol or drug use for very long. We couldn’t stop the problems it caused in our lives. We finally found that the only thing that made sense was to cut our losses and walk away — into sobriety.

POWER IN THE PAUSE

3) Focus on the similarities, not the differences.

When I was finally willing to see things differently and surrender, a whole new world opened up. I learned I was not unique. Every now and again I still compare, have expectations, and can get easily  distracted by the differences.  The ego thrives on that. Today I’ll be better and do better!

Twelve & Twelve pg. 95

4) Learning to spot, admit and correct my flaws is the essence of character building and good living. An honest regret for harms done, a genuine gratitude for blessings received, and a willingness to try better things tomorrow, will be the permanent assets we shall seek.
