DAILY REFLECTIONS

1) Such parts of our story we tell to someone who will understand, yet be unaffected. The rule is, we must be hard on our self, but always considerate of others.

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, p. 74

AS BILL SEES IT, p. 127

2) In A.A., we have found that the actual good results of prayer are beyond question. They are matters of knowledge and experience. All those who have persisted have found strength, not ordinarily their own. They have found wisdom beyond their usual capability. And they have increasingly found a peace of mind which can stand firm in the face of difficult circumstances.

3) Acceptance is the key to my relationship with God today. I never just sit and do nothing while waiting for Him to tell me what to do. Rather I do whatever is in front of me to be done, and I leave the results up to Him; however it turns out, that’s God‘s will for me.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

4) “So live that you wouldn’t be ashamed to sell the family parrot to the town gossip.”-Will Rogers

Secrets help keep us sick. In our drinking and using days, we did things we weren’t proud of. We lived in a secret world we were ashamed of. This is part of the power of addiction. Our behavior and our secrets keep us trapped. Recovery offers us away out of the secret world. In our groups, we share our secrets, and they lose their power over the us. There may be things we’re too ashamed to talk about in our groups. When we share these things in our fifth step, they lose their power over us.
